Dear Fellow Europeans:
Time to check our sailing gear has not been eaten by moths as we start turning towards Cagliari. I must admit there is some nervousness to this Bulletin, given what we have been through in the last 3 years and now significant unrest in the East, however we are plan on regardless. I hope this email finds you and your loved ones safe and in good spirits.
To start this rolling again, I attach an extract from the ESC2022 logbook that shows the preferred route across the sailing area, some advanced warning of the Dinghy Race Dress Theme and the Crew Pages.
Preferred Route: It’s a great sailing area but it does entail some distance on occasion. As we saw during the recce we are potentially at the risk of strong winds from the West so key to sailing this route will be a favourable forecast to allow good passage to Carlaforte. We may choose to the reverse the order of this route pending forecast, plus we have some backup options in hand.
Dinghy Race: You know what is expected of you, sailors to your inflatables!
Crew Pages: I know we have had some changes amongst the fleet so it would be appreciated if you can send me any changes and updates to your crew by 11th March. Just send me your single ppt slide, they are all attached here for ease only.
We aim to issue the full logbook about 4 weeks prior to regatta start. We are currently in the process of re-checking details for the whole week such as marina details, welcome and prize-giving details.
Looking forward to seeing you all again.
Mike and Crew
